about mom
Our Mom was an amazing woman as many Mom's are. She cared deeply about people especially family. She always tried to stay in contact with her children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews and all of her friends. She had soooo many friends!!! New ones and ones she had known since kindergarten. Whatever you needed she was there to help in any way that she could.
She was born in 1940 but even at the age of 81 she could run circles around us younger folks. Her mind was like a steel trap....she had a memory that would put most to shame. She was very detail oriented and extremely organized. She was a wonderful seamstress (she could sew anything!!), quilter, photographer and within the past few years she found a passion in renovating old sewing machines....antique ones made in the late 1800's and early 1900's.
She hated to see these machines thrown out or made into doorstops!! She would take an old machine and work on it for hours, taking it all apart (so many small parts!), soaking parts, scrubbing parts and the machines delicately then putting it all back together again. 90% of them she got working flawlessly again AND she would add hand cranks to the ones that were adaptable so you could travel with them and not need electricity. She continually amazed us all. She also always kept in shape. She and my Stepdad (88 yrs old) worked out at the gym 5-6 days a week doing cardio and weights. She was a forced to be reckoned with to say the least......
She had many years left to live her already full life......she did not have to DIE!!!!
